April 2013 - An Ordinary Copper

Tuesday Beaver Scouts were visited by Detective Constable Steven Begg who provided the children with an insight into the role of a policeman and  allowed the kids to wear specialised protective gear, experience being  hand cuffed and learn about the gear needed as part of the riot squad.

Steven explained the roles he has held within the police including a policeman, the riot squad and presently the murder squad.

The children were given the opportunity to learn some interesting facts and gain knowledge on the variety of roles within the police force with the chance to ask questions at the end.

The leaders took several photographs throughout the evening which can be viewed below.
